Our Story_

Established in 2010, VCURA was created to address a gap in the Western Canadian market for a true Value Added Reseller. At the time the traditional reseller space was crowded with providers focusing on being a technology procurement vehicle for clients. This presented the opportunity to build a company with a mission focused on providing valued services in the market. We achieve this through investing in talented staff and creating an environment of expertise capable of offering clients the support needed in their adoption of technology and delivery of cybersecurity programs.

Over the past 15 years, VCURA has established itself as an organization with a reputation of integrity through our demonstrated commitment to the delivery of value to our clients. Looking forward, we will continue to grow our team and develop innovative ways to enhance our capabilities to expand into new markets where opportunities exist for a true Value Added Reseller.

Meet the Team_

Devin Siwak

President

Beginning his career in Winnipeg, Manitoba over 20 years ago, Devin was a part of a boutique IT security company called IST. His technical background formed the foundation of VCURA as a Value Added Reseller when he started the company in 2010. Now the President of VCURA, Devin oversees the vision of the company but still has a passion for working closely with the technical team and clients in support of our collective success.

Niv Harrison

Vice President & General Manager

In 2012 Niv started at VCURA as a Business Development Manager and has since taken on various roles, eventually becoming VCURA’s Vice President and General Manager. His background in business and entrepreneurship and emphasis on delivering value to clients and partners has proved instrumental in supporting VCURA’s exponential growth throughout the years.

Brian James

Director of Technical Sales

With over 20 years of lead design, implementation and audit experience in IT security and infrastructure systems, Brian has a proven track record in designing, supporting, monitoring, and auditing highly available security, networking and virtualized server systems for private and public enterprises. As VCURA’s Director of Technical Services, Brian provides guidance and direction to the Enterprise Security, Infrastructure, Assessment and SMB teams.

John Richards

Team Lead Enterprise Security

An extensive career in IT networking and security has helped John develop the skills and experience to be VCURA’s Team Lead of Enterprise Security. With over 25 years experience in the field, John balances hands-on network security operations with mentorship in support of the team’s drive to provide value.

Owen Weldon

Team Lead Enterprise Infrastructure

Owen’s diverse roles, from managing an oil and gas company’s support desk to IT Manager of a software development firm and now VCURA’s Team Lead of Enterprise Infrastructure, have equipped him with a deep understanding of offering value to the business. His over 20 years of expertise in server, networking, and Microsoft cloud services makes him a valuable member of VCURA.

Ian Thielsen

Director of Sales

As VCURA’s Director of Sales, Ian is responsible for mentoring, managing and growing the Account Management team. He brings more than two decades of experience working for Cybersecurity vendors and has deep knowledge of Identity Security and Microsoft Directories. A strong interest in continuously learning about new and unique security solutions that drive improved security posture, increased efficiency, and value for customers makes Ian an important resource for our clients and team members.

Taylor Bennett

Team Lead Offensive Security & Threat Intelligence

Taylor is VCURA’s Team Lead of Offensive Security and Threat Intelligence. He leads the team of in-house specialists for performing penetration tests and simulating adversarial behaviours in client networks to assess the success of their defensive cybersecurity tools.

George Coulas

Team Lead / SMB Managed IT

George is VCURA’s Team Lead of SMB/Managed Services. George has over 25 years of industry experience and has managed Small Business clients for the last 15 years. He brings exceptional customer service skills to VCURA’s clients and has experience in designing and implementing SMB server and network infrastructure.
